As late spring becomes summer in my hometown in the Midwest, the thing I’m always most excited about—besides fireflies!—is the swift thunderstorms that roll in over the fields on summer afternoons. I love hearing the rain fall on the roof and feeling the humidity of an intense day dissipate.

Here’s a soundtrack for curling up with a good book—or, if I’m honest, a laptop—and listening to the rain pouring down outside.
