The birds are chirping, the flowers are blooming, and springtime is finally here! We're feeling the lighter-color love all the way down to our toes—including some fresh hues for our digits. Give yourself an at-home professional-worthy manicure (see our super easy tutorial here), and get your nails warm weather-ready with a new color. Take your pick from our favorite trends below.
Pastel polish is the quintessential spring manicure trend. Think periwinkle, lilac, blush pink, mint green, and canary yellow. These shades complement every skin tone beautifully and look superchic against your classic khaki trench coat.
This manicure is white-hot! Go for classic snow white shades, as shown here. The bright white will make any outfit really pop and is flattering for even those who are fair-skinned (trust me, I've tried it!). Just make sure to finish with a good top coat—try Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat—as any chips will be pretty obvious.
Nude nails aren't just for the office anymore. These neutral shades are understated sophistication at its best and will stylishly take you from day to night. If you have lighter skin, opt for more pinkish and sheer shades. Medium skin tones should stick with beige-y hues. For darker skin, try coffee-colored shades.
I love a bright red for spring and summer. Poppy shades were all over the spring runways, and with all these readily available options, you, too, can get in on the trend. Gold and rose gold jewelry plays well with this color, so feel free to stack on your favorite rings and bracelets. Did we mention how great this color looks on your toes? Très chic.
Ready to step up your mani game? Try this half moon nail art with your favorite contrasting polishes. Black and white, nude and mint, and blush and gold glitter are a few of my favorite combos. You can also turn this into a "negative space" mani, where the moon portion of your nail is actually polish-free. The trick to this nail art is to use a pack of nail-guide stickers. (We like this one from Orly.) Check out Verily's own half-moon manicure tutorial for more helpful tips!
