Style Resolutions to Keep in 2014
It's not too late to get started on personal style resolutions for 2014. Whether it's how you look at your body or what you put on it, a little change can go a long way in looking and feeling your best this year!
1. Stop beating myself up over my changing, womanly, body.
I want to embrace my healthy body shape and weight, and now I need to have fun learning how to dress for it!
2. Say adieu to the high-low hem trend.
My father aptly described the high-low hem as "that weird fairy look" and I agree with him. So long high-low dresses!
3. Break out of the cliché New York trend of wearing all things black.
This year I will start incorporating COLOR. I'm especially stoked about Pantone's Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid—purple is, after all, my favorite color! Inspired by Temperley London's Spring 2014 line bursting with this rich hue, I'm eyeing these statement skirts that can be worn all year long. ASOS, knee-length skirt with pockets, and ASOS midi-length in scuba material.
4. Revel in the baseball T trend.
As a girl whose go-to comfort style is t-shirt and jeans, I'm loving the reincarnation of the tomboy look with silks, lace, leather, and fun prints and textures! This funky flower printed T from Zara is a winner.
5. Take better care of my poor feet!
Style doesn't have to take precedence over comfort, especially in a city where you walk everywhere. I've recently discovered Juil, a footwear company that makes the softest and most practically cute flats and sandals.
