3 Totally Charming (and Easy) DIY Gift Ideas

We're kind of obsessed with these cute homemade jar gifts.

Homemade gifts are a great way to express your love and gratitude without breaking the bank. This season, try putting your heartfelt goodies in a mason jar for a charming, rustic look. Below are 3 of my favorite jar-friendly gift ideas:

Infused Sugar

Art Credit: Haruka Sakaguchi

Infused sugar can be found in gourmet grocery stores for as much as $11.99 a jar! But, you can treat your loved ones to a batch of this luxurious finery by simply mixing granulated sugar with an aromatic edible like fresh organic rose petals, lemon zest, vanilla beans or lavender. Let it sit in a cool place for up to a week in tightly sealed jars. Infused sugar can be used to add an aromatic twist to tea, coffee, and fruit desserts.

Hot Cocoa In A Jar

There’s nothing like curling up in a warm blanket with a mug of hot cocoa in hand. Give the gift of pre-prepared homemade cocoa, simply mix all of the essential ingredients in a mason jar. This way your friend or loved one can enjoy a cuppa on a quiet evening at ease - while thinking of you, of course.

What You’ll Need:

2 cups nonfat dry milk powder
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1/2 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup powdered nondairy creamer
1/8 teaspoon salt
Medium to large marshmallows, to decorate

Place the dry milk powder, sugar, unsweetened cocoa, creamer and salt into a mixing bowl and mix until evenly blended.
Place in a canning jar and layer with chocolate chips and marshmallows.

Pumpkin Body Scrub

Pumpkin is rich in vitamin A. This combined with olive oil (packed with vitamin E and antioxidants) and honey (great for hydration) makes for a deeply nourishing and deliciously creamy body scrub that is perfect for the dry, winter season.

What You’ll Need:

1/2 cup organic pumpkin, pureed
1/2 cup organic brown sugar
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon pure raw honey

Combine all ingredients except for the oil in a bowl and mix well.
Add the oil to the mixture. Mix well and place in canning jar.
