It's been said that "you can't really understand another person until you've walked a mile in their shoes." This is the mantra in which the Dig Deep "4 Liters Challenge" is based. What is it like not to have sufficient access to life's most basic need: water? Dig Deep - an inspiring organization that we featured in our June/July issue - is challenging us to find out.
The healthy requirement of water for human beings is 50 liters of water per person, per day. But nearly one billion people lack access to a safe source of clean drinking water. The 4 Liters Challenge offers American's the opportunity to really be conscience of their water consumption in order raise awareness—and compassion—for those who experience water poverty.
Here's How it Works:
The Verily team will be participating in the 4 Liters Challenge to join in solidarity with those who live in water poverty worldwide. This means that during the week of October 14 - 17, we will be living off just 4 liters of water every day. That's it! Not another drop for drinking, cooking, washing, and showering. We'll be sharing our experience living on 4 liters by journaling, taking pictures, and tracking our experiences on our profile and social media.
