"On September 11, 2001, Meg Simmons was twelve going on thirteen. As a seventh-grader, she never could have imagined how influential that Tuesday, which started out so ordinary, was going to be on her life."
Meg was one of 3,051 children who lost a parent on September 11, 2001. After years of struggling with the loss of her father, Meg sought help from Tuesday's Children, a non-profit founded to provide healing for those who lost loved ones during the terrorist attack on September 11th.
In Verily's Aug/Sep feature The Day After Tuesday, Meg T. McDonnell, introduces us to Meg Simmons and Tuesday's Children. But most importantly, reminds us that—even after great loss and suffering—there is always space for love and healing.
