Two Penny Blue offers an impeccable line of classic tailored jackets and blazers, a perfect wardrobe staple for this coming spring. If the sophisticated silhouettes in bright, punchy colors haven't convinced you, their mission will surely inspire.
After a life-changing trip to an AIDS orphanage in Africa, Marie Whitney founded Two Penny Blue in 2010. The philanthropy behind the fashion is to help underprivileged girls afford an education, and most importantly, to give these young women hope for a better future. With every jacket purchased, Two Penny donates one school uniform to a girl in Africa.
Why school uniforms? Two Penny Blue explains, "In sub-Saharan Africa, 24 million girls can't afford to go to school. Although school is often free, each year millions of girls are denied the opportunity to attend school because they can not afford a school uniform." This philanthropic fashion house also invests in programs beyond attaining school uniforms for girls in need. Two Penny Blue has partnered with Daraja Academy, a secondary boarding school in rural Kenya, in an effort to empower young girls and provide them with the tools they need to become leaders in their communities.
Two Penny Blue's gorgeous line and female friendly initiatives are worth an applause. Who doesn't love a good reason to shop?
