After the stunning parade of gorgeous long-sleeved gowns down the red carpet at the Golden Globes, we had high hopes for this year's Academy Awards ceremony. It seemed the starlets exchanged notes before slipping into their designer dresses: pale, nude, gold, and black, and all dripping with sparkles. These women gave the Oscar atmosphere a healthy dose of old-school Hollywood glamour. It's safe to say we were dazzled by the glitzy trend. We especially love the complimentary natural, pale lip to balance the glam gowns as well as soft side part and loose updo's for hair!
Who was your favorite dressed star of the night?
Nicole Kidman in L'Wren Scott. Detailed in a secession style print, it looks as if she stepped right out of a Gustov Klimt masterpiece.
Amanda Seyfried in ethereal, custom made Alexander McQueen.
Catherine Zeta Jones in Zuhair Murad. Is it just us, or could she have been mistaken for the Oscar statuette itself?
Kristin Chenoweth pulls off the mermaid silhouette, dress by Tony Ward.
'Simple' doesn't have to mean 'plain.' Jessica Chastain looks particularly stunning in this nude number by Armani Prive.
Stacy Keibler wore a black and silver embroidered dress by Naeem Khan. That neckline is perfect to showcase toned arms.
Sandra Bullock looking classic in Elie Saab. The intricate detail of this dress is anything but boring.
Although, she wasn't covered in head to toe sparkle, we have to give Best Actress, Jennifer Lawrence, a shout out as she handled herself with as much grace as possible after that trip up the stairs...
