Does the thought of redoing your makeup between work and meeting your date for dinner sound like a drag? Not to worry: With just three products and three simple steps, you can be out the door and looking date-night fab in no time.

You’ll need:

01. a sharpened waterproof black or dark gray eyeliner pencil

02. a highlighter powder compact

03. a bold lipstick shade that makes you feel like queen of the dance floor

Some helpful extras you'll want are a couple Q-tips or small smudging brush, as well as a blush brush.

Step 01//

step-1

Use the waterproof eyeliner pencil on your upper lid, keeping it as close to your upper lashline as possible while getting in between your lashes and drawing slightly upward at the outer corners. Work quickly, as waterproof pencil has only a little bit of playtime before the liner sets in place and cannot be moved.

Take a dry Q-tip and smudge the line to give a smokey effect. Line the inner ridge of your lower lashline as well as the outer edges of your lower lashline, then slightly smudge. This soft, smokey eye adds definition and draws attention to your eyes in dim lighting.

Step 02//

cheekbones

To catch the candlelight and draw attention to your beautiful features, use your blush brush and sweep highlighter on your cheekbones and your cupid’s bow (the double-curve of your upper lip) this makes your lips appear larger.

Use a Q-tip or your smudging brush to add highlighter to the inner corners of your eyes and to your browbone just below the outer edge of your eyebrows. When you turn your head, any light in the room will catch the highlighter to give you a gorgeous evening glow.

Step 03//

lips

Finish your evening look with a bold lipstick. As your lips can easily disappear in the dark, this will make your lips pop.  A few of my favorite products at the moment are MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in Relentlessly Red or All Fired Up, and Bite Beauty in Violet, Cin Cin, or Mulberry.

If you have more time, add a second coat of black mascara and a bonus swipe of blush for that extra hint of drama.

Now wasn’t that super quick? Time to head out the door!
