We invite you to celebrate real beauty with us. Verily is calling for nominations for the Runway to Realway feature of our November/December print issue! If you would like to help us promote authentic beauty by being a model, have a friend nominate you—or nominate a friend yourself!—by commenting on our Facebook post and tagging their name or by retweeting and tagging your friend’s handle on Twitter.

The Experience:

Models will spend one day with a photographer, makeup artist, stylist, and Verily Magazine staff for an outdoor shoot in the city on August 24, 2013. We'll have lunch on set, but no monetary compensation or travel assistance will be provided.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 34, any nationality, height, hair color, and body shape. As travel assistance will not be provided, winners must live in the NYC metropolitan area or be available in NYC on August 24, 2013 for the photo shoot. Applicants cannot be under contract with any modeling or talent agency or otherwise be professional models

After you’ve been nominated on Facebook or Twitter, please send a full-length photograph and headshot, along with a sentence or a few lines on why you would like to be a Runway to Realway model to ohhello@verilymag.com by midnight Pacific Time on Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Only models who were previously nominated on Facebook or Twitter will be considered.

RUNWAY TO REALWAY SEARCH 

Terms

Nominations for Runway to Realway Search ("Search") will be accepted through 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (“PT”) on August 14, 2013 (“Nomination Period”).

ELIGIBILITY: Nominees must be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and District of Columbia, 21 to 34 years of age.  Note: Nominees must be able to be in New York City on August 24, 2013.No travel or accommodations will be provided if selected. Nominees cannot be under contract with any modeling or talent agency or otherwise be professional models. Employees of Verily Magazine ("Verily"), its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising and promotion agencies, and members of their immediate family (spouse and parent, children and siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in the same household, whether or not related, of such employees, are not eligible to enter. Void where prohibited by law. Search is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

By participating, each participant (for the purpose of this Search, participant includes submitter and nominee (if different) agrees to abide by these terms (“Terms”) and decisions of Verily, which shall be final and binding in all respects relating to this Search.

HOW TO SUBMIT:  In order to submit a nomination for yourself or a friend, you must (i) comment on the Search post on Facebook and, if nominating someone other than yourself, tag his/her name, or retweet the Search Tweet and, if nominating someone other than yourself, tag his/her friend’s handle on Twitter, then (ii) send a full-length photograph and headshot, along with a sentence or a few lines on why you or your friend would like to be a Runway to Realway model to ohhello@verilymag.com  (“Nomination”). Limit one (1) Nomination per person for the entire Search. Note: If you are nominating someone other than yourself, you should have his/her permission to do so.  Nomination materials should include no individuals other than nominee. Multiple Nominations will be void.  All Nominations become the sole property of the Verily and will not be returned.

PROHIBITED CONTENT: 

Nominations may not contain, as determined by the Verily staff, in its sole discretion, any content thatis sexually explicit or suggestive; unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; profane or pornographic; contains nudity; promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing); promotes any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous; promotes any particular political agenda or message; is obscene or offensive; endorses any form of hate or hate group; appears to duplicate any other submitted Nomination; defames, misrepresents or contains disparaging remarks about Verily, its products or services, other people or companies; contains trademarks, logos, or trade dress (such as distinctive packaging or building exteriors/interiors) owned by others, without permission, to the extent permission is necessary; contains copyrighted materials owned by others (including photographs, sculptures, paintings, and other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies or other media), without permission, to the extent permission is necessary; contains materials embodying the names, likenesses, voices, or other indicia identifying any person (living or dead), such as license plate numbers, personal names, e-mail addresses or street addresses, including, without limitation, celebrities and/or other public or private figures, living or dead, without permission, to the extent permission is necessary; communicates messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or good will with which Verily wishes to associate; and/or violates any law.

Nomination must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity.  If a Nomination contains any material or elements that are not owned by the submitter or nominee (except for Verily), and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties (for example, the photos were taken by someone other than submitter), the submitter is responsible for ensuring that he/she has any and all releases, permissions and consents necessary to permit the use of the Nomination by Verily in the manner set forth in these Terms. Verily reserves the right to request proof of these permissions in a form acceptable to Verily from any submitter at any time. Failure to provide such proof may, if requested, render Nomination null and void.  By submitting a Nomination, submitter warrants and represents that he/she consents to the submission and use of the Nomination in the Search and to its use as otherwise set forth herein.

By making a Nomination, submitter represents and warrants that the Nomination conforms to these Terms and understands that Verily, in its sole discretion, may disqualify the Nomination for any reason, including if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the Nomination fails to conform to these Terms in any way or otherwise contains unacceptable content as determined by Verily, in its sole discretion.

JUDGING:  All eligible Nominations received by Verily will be reviewed to determine the potential winner.  Verily reserves the right to not select anyone if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Nominations. All decisions of the Verily are final and binding.  For the avoidance of doubt, potential winner will be the nominee and not the submitter, if different.

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Potential winner will be notified by email and may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, and a Liability and Publicity Release (unless prohibited by law) as well any other documents required by Verily, which must be returned within seven (7) days of date appearing on award notification. Return of notification as undeliverable, failure to sign and return requested documentation within the specified time period, the inability of Verily to contact potential winner within a reasonable time period or noncompliance with these Terms by potential winner (including, but not limited to, if potential winner cannot be in New York City on August 24, 2013) will result in disqualification and, at the sole discretion of Verily, the award may be provided to a runner-up.

AWARD: Winner will participate in a photo shoot with a photographer, makeup artist, and stylist at an outdoor location in New York City on August 24, 2013 for the opportunity to appear in Runway to Realway feature of Verily Magazine’s November/December print issue (or other issue, as determined by Verily in its sole discretion).  There is no cash value to this award. Winner must be able to be in New York City on August 24, 2013.  No travel or accommodations will be provided. All details of photo shoot, including location and duration, will be determined by Verily.  Verily will photograph, film and otherwise the record the photo shoot (collectively, the “Shoot Materials”) and winner understands that the Shoot Materials will be owned by Verily who has the right to reproduce, distribute, perform, create derivative works of, edit, alter, display, exhibit, combine with other materials, exploit and otherwise use the Shoot Materials and all elements embodied therein, along with winner’s name, voice, biographical information, image and/or likeness, in any manner and in any and all media now known or hereafter devised throughout the universe for any purpose whatsoever, including, without limitation, for commercial purposes, without further compensation or notification to, or permission from, winner or any third party and hereby waives any moral rights in Shoot Materials.  If, for whatever reason, Verily chooses not to include winner in the November/December issue or other issue, no compensation or substitution will be provided.  All costs and expenses associated with award acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided, including, without limitation, travel and accommodations, are the sole responsibility of the winner.  Winner may not substitute, assign or transfer award or redeem award for cash, but Verily reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute award (or portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY:  By participating, participants agrees to release, indemnify, discharge and hold harmless Verily, its parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives of the forgoing (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from submitter’s participation in the Search or any Search-related activity, the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of award and/or use by Verily of the rights granted herein.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, inaccurate, stolen, delayed, misdirected, undelivered, or garbled Nominations, email or mail; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer/tablet, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Search, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Search, the processing or evaluation of Nominations, or in any Search-related materials. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Search, who act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or who are in violation of these Terms, as solely determined by Verily, will be disqualified and all associated Nominations will be void. Verily reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Search for any reason. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SEARCH MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, VERILY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
